Cubeo Language
Cubeo is an indigenous language spoken by the Cubeo people in the northwest region of the Amazon rainforest, primarily in Colombia. It belongs to the Tucanoan language family, which includes several other languages spoken by neighboring tribes. The language is known for its complex system of verb conjugation and rich vocabulary related to the natural environment.
Despite its cultural significance, Cubeo is considered endangered due to the influence of Spanish and the declining number of fluent speakers. Efforts are being made to preserve the language through educational programs and community initiatives, aiming to revitalize its use among younger generations.
