Cubagua
Cubagua is a small island located in the Caribbean Sea, part of the Venezuela state of Nueva Esparta. It is situated near the larger island of Margarita and is known for its beautiful beaches and rich marine life. Historically, Cubagua was significant for its pearl fisheries, which attracted many explorers and settlers during the colonial period.
Today, Cubagua is less populated and primarily visited for its natural beauty and tranquility. The island features remnants of its past, including the ruins of San Juan Bautista, a former settlement. Visitors can enjoy activities like snorkeling and exploring the surrounding waters.
