Crusader Symbols
Crusader symbols were emblems used by the knights and soldiers during the Crusades, a series of religious wars from the 11th to 13th centuries. These symbols often included crosses, such as the Latin Cross and the Templar Cross, representing their Christian faith and mission to reclaim the Holy Land. Each order of knights, like the Knights Templar or Knights Hospitaller, had unique designs that distinguished them from one another.
These symbols served not only as identifiers but also as sources of inspiration and unity among the Crusaders. They were often displayed on banners, shields, and armor, reinforcing the religious and military purpose of their campaigns. The use of these emblems helped to create a sense of brotherhood and shared goals among the diverse groups involved in the Crusades.
