Crown Prince Naruhito is the current heir to the Japanese throne and the eldest son of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko. Naruhito has a keen interest in water conservation and has spoken about the importance of sustainable water management. In 2019, he ascended to the throne as Emperor Naruhito following his father's abdication, becoming the 126th emperor of Japan. His reign is known as the Reiwa era, which translates to "beautiful harmony." Naruhito is married to Crown Princess Masako, who has a background in diplomacy and international relations.
