Croatian Hungarians
Croatian Hungarians are an ethnic minority in Croatia, primarily residing in the region of Baranja and parts of Slavonia. They are descendants of Hungarian settlers who moved to the area during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This community maintains its unique cultural identity, including language, traditions, and customs.
The Croatian Hungarian population is relatively small, with estimates ranging from 15,000 to 20,000 individuals. They often participate in local cultural events and festivals, celebrating their heritage through music, dance, and traditional cuisine. The community also advocates for the preservation of the Hungarian language and cultural practices within Croatia.
