Cristo Redentor
Cristo Redentor, or Christ the Redeemer, is a colossal statue of Jesus Christ located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Standing 30 meters tall on a 8-meter pedestal, it overlooks the city from the summit of Corcovado Mountain. The statue was completed in 1931 and is made of reinforced concrete and soapstone.
The statue is a symbol of Christianity and a cultural icon of Brazil. It was designated as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007. Visitors can access the site via a train that travels through the lush Tijuca National Park, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
