Crisium basin
The Crisium basin is a large impact crater located on the Moon's surface, measuring about 1,300 kilometers (810 miles) in diameter. It is one of the largest basins on the Moon and is believed to have formed around 3.8 billion years ago. The basin is characterized by its flat floor and surrounding ring of mountains, which were created by the force of the impact that formed it.
This basin is situated in the eastern part of the Moon's near side and is surrounded by several smaller craters. The Crisium basin is of interest to scientists because it provides insights into the Moon's geological history and the processes that shaped its surface. Its relatively well-preserved features make it a valuable site for lunar studies.
