Crimean Tatar
The Crimean Tatars are a Turkic ethnic group native to the Crimea peninsula in Ukraine. They have a rich cultural heritage, including unique traditions, music, and language. Historically, they faced significant challenges, particularly during the Stalin era when many were forcibly deported from their homeland in 1944.
Today, the Crimean Tatar community continues to advocate for their rights and cultural preservation, especially following the annexation of Crimea by Russia in 2014. They strive to maintain their identity and promote awareness of their history and struggles, contributing to the diverse cultural landscape of the region.
