Crested Auklet
The Crested Auklet is a small seabird found primarily in the North Pacific Ocean, particularly around the Aleutian Islands and the Bering Sea. It is known for its distinctive crest of feathers that resembles a small tuft on its head. These birds have a dark plumage with a white bill and are often seen in large colonies during the breeding season.
Crested Auklets feed mainly on small fish and zooplankton, diving underwater to catch their prey. They are social birds, often nesting in rocky crevices or burrows. Their unique appearance and behavior make them a fascinating subject for birdwatchers and researchers alike.
