The Crabeater Seal is a unique marine mammal found primarily in the cold waters of the Antarctic region. Despite its name, it primarily feeds on krill, small shrimp-like crustaceans, rather than crabs. This seal has a streamlined body and can grow up to 2.5 meters long, making it one of the most abundant seal species in the world.
These seals are well-adapted to their icy environment, with thick blubber for insulation and specialized teeth that help filter krill from the water. They are often seen resting on sea ice and are known for their social behavior, frequently forming large groups.
