Counties of Kenya
Kenya is divided into 47 administrative units known as counties. Each county is governed by an elected governor and has its own local government to manage resources and services. The counties were established in 2010 under the new constitution to promote decentralization and enhance local governance.
Each county varies in size, population, and resources, contributing to Kenya's diverse culture and economy. Major counties include Nairobi, the capital city, and Mombasa, a key coastal city. The counties play a crucial role in implementing national policies and fostering development at the local level.
