Count of Artois
The Count of Artois was a noble title in the historical region of Artois, located in northern France. This title was held by various members of the French nobility, particularly during the medieval and early modern periods. The Counts played significant roles in local governance and military affairs, often serving as vassals to the French crown.
One of the most notable holders of the title was Charles-Philippe de France, who became the Count of Artois in the late 18th century. He later became known as Charles X, the last king of France from the Bourbon dynasty. The title has since become largely historical, reflecting the feudal system of the time.
