Count Robert I of Flanders
Count Robert I of Flanders, also known as Robert the Frisian, was a nobleman who ruled from 1071 until his death in 1111. He was a member of the House of Flanders and the son of Count Baldwin VI of Flanders. Robert played a significant role in the politics of medieval Flanders, a region that is now part of modern-day Belgium.
During his reign, Robert I was known for his military prowess and efforts to strengthen the County of Flanders. He participated in the First Crusade and was involved in various conflicts with neighboring territories.
