Council of Mantua
The Council of Mantua was an important assembly of the Roman Catholic Church held in 1536-1537 in the city of Mantua, Italy. It was convened by Pope Paul III to address various issues, including the Protestant Reformation and the need for church reform. The council aimed to strengthen the Catholic Church's position and resolve internal disputes.
During the council, discussions focused on the challenges posed by Protestantism and the need for a unified response.
