Council of Lithuania
The Council of Lithuania was established in 1918 as the governing body of the newly declared Lithuania after it regained independence from Russia. It played a crucial role in shaping the country's political landscape and drafting the first constitution. The council consisted of representatives from various political groups and aimed to unify the nation.
In 1940, the Council of Lithuania was dissolved following the Soviet occupation. It was later re-established in 1990 when Lithuania declared independence from the Soviet Union again. Today, the council's legacy is remembered as a significant step in Lithuania's journey towards sovereignty and democracy.
