Corvus frugilegus
The Corvus frugilegus, commonly known as the rook, is a medium-sized bird belonging to the crow family, Corvidae. It has a distinctive black plumage with a slightly glossy appearance and a long, pointed bill. Rooks are often found in open fields, farmlands, and near human settlements, where they forage for food such as insects, seeds, and small invertebrates.
Rooks are highly social birds, often seen in large flocks, especially during the breeding season. They build their nests in trees or tall structures, using twigs and other materials. Their vocalizations include a variety of caws and croaks, which they use to communicate with each other.
