Corneal Lenses
Corneal lenses, commonly known as contact lenses, are thin, curved discs placed directly on the surface of the cornea, the clear front part of the eye. They are designed to correct vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Unlike glasses, corneal lenses provide a wider field of vision and do not fog up or get splattered with rain.
These lenses come in various types, including soft lenses and rigid gas permeable lenses. Soft lenses are made of flexible materials that allow oxygen to pass through, while rigid lenses maintain their shape and provide sharper vision. Proper care and hygiene are essential to prevent eye infections and ensure comfort.
