Cork Militia
The Cork Militia was a military unit formed in the late 17th century in County Cork, Ireland. It was established to provide local defense and maintain order during a time of political instability. The militia was composed of local volunteers and was part of a broader system of militias across Ireland.
Throughout its history, the Cork Militia played a role in various conflicts, including the Williamite War and later engagements during the Irish Rebellion of 1798. The unit was disbanded in the early 19th century as military needs evolved, but it remains a notable part of Cork's local history.
