Convention People's Party
The Convention People's Party (CPP) is a political party in Ghana founded in 1949 by Kwame Nkrumah. It played a significant role in the country's struggle for independence from British colonial rule and became the ruling party after Ghana gained independence in 1957.
The CPP's ideology is centered around socialism and pan-Africanism, aiming to promote economic development and social justice. Although it lost power in the 1960s, the party has continued to participate in Ghana's political landscape, advocating for the principles of self-determination and national unity.
