Continental Divide National Scenic Trail
The Continental Divide National Scenic Trail (CDT) is a long-distance hiking trail that spans approximately 3,100 miles along the Rocky Mountains in the United States. It runs from the U.S.-Mexico border in New Mexico to the U.S.-Canada border in Montana, following the Continental Divide, which separates watersheds that flow into the Pacific Ocean from those that flow into the Atlantic Ocean.
Established in 1978, the CDT passes through five states: New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. The trail offers diverse landscapes, including deserts, alpine meadows, and rugged mountains, making it a popular destination for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts seeking adventure in nature.
