Constitutional Court of Chile
The Constitutional Court of Chile is a specialized judicial body responsible for ensuring that laws and regulations comply with the Chilean Constitution. Established in 1980, it plays a crucial role in protecting constitutional rights and maintaining the rule of law in the country. The court reviews laws, resolves disputes regarding constitutional interpretation, and can declare laws unconstitutional.
The court consists of ten members, appointed by the President of Chile, the Chilean Senate, and the Chilean Chamber of Deputies. Its decisions are binding, and it serves as a guardian of democracy by overseeing the legality of governmental actions and protecting individual rights.
