Conn Smythe Trophy
The Conn Smythe Trophy is awarded annually to the most valuable player (MVP) during the NHL playoffs. Established in 1965, it honors Conn Smythe, a former owner and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The trophy is determined by a vote of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association at the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Finals.
To be eligible for the trophy, a player must have participated in the playoffs and made a significant impact on their team's performance. The award is often given to players who excel in high-pressure situations, showcasing their skills and leadership during the postseason.
