Congressmen
Congressmen are elected officials who serve in the United States Congress, which is the legislative branch of the federal government. They represent the interests of their constituents, the people who live in their districts, and are responsible for making laws, debating policies, and addressing national issues. Each congressman serves a two-year term in the House of Representatives.
There are a total of 435 congressmen in the House, with the number from each state based on its population. Congressmen work alongside Senators, who serve in the Senate, to create and pass legislation that affects the entire country.
