Congressional term limits
Congressional term limits refer to restrictions on the number of terms an elected official can serve in the U.S. Congress. Currently, there are no official term limits for members of the House of Representatives or the Senate, allowing them to serve an unlimited number of terms as long as they continue to win elections.
Proponents of term limits argue that they can promote fresh ideas and reduce the influence of career politicians. Critics, however, believe that term limits could lead to a loss of experienced lawmakers and disrupt the legislative process, as new members may take time to learn the complexities of governance.
