Conduction Disorders
Conduction disorders are conditions that affect the heart's electrical system, leading to irregular heartbeats or slow heart rates. These disorders can occur when the electrical signals that control the heartbeat are blocked or delayed, often due to issues with the heart's nodes or bundles that transmit these signals.
Common types of conduction disorders include atrioventricular (AV) block and bundle branch block. Symptoms may vary from mild, such as fatigue or dizziness, to severe, including fainting or heart failure. Diagnosis typically involves electrocardiograms (ECGs) and other tests to assess the heart's electrical activity.
