Communist Party of the Russian Federation
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) is a political party in Russia that was founded in 1993. It is the successor to the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and promotes Marxist-Leninist ideology. The CPRF advocates for social justice, state control of key industries, and a return to some aspects of the Soviet system.
The party has been a significant force in Russian politics, often positioning itself as the main opposition to the ruling party, United Russia. The CPRF participates in elections and has a presence in the State Duma, the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, where it seeks to influence legislation and policy.
