Common Viper
The Common Viper, also known as Vipera berus, is a venomous snake found across Europe and parts of Asia. It typically inhabits forests, grasslands, and wetlands, preferring areas with plenty of cover. This species is recognizable by its distinctive zigzag pattern along its back, which can vary in color from brown to gray or black.
Common Vipers are relatively small, usually measuring between 60 to 90 centimeters in length. They are known for their ambush hunting style, preying on small mammals, birds, and amphibians. While their venom can be harmful to humans, bites are rarely fatal, and prompt medical treatment is usually effective.
