Common Ostrich
The Common Ostrich is the largest living bird, native to Africa. It can reach heights of up to 9 feet and weigh between 220 to 350 pounds. Unlike most birds, ostriches cannot fly, but they are excellent runners, capable of reaching speeds up to 45 miles per hour. Their long legs and large feet help them cover ground quickly.
Ostriches have a distinctive appearance, with a long neck, large eyes, and fluffy feathers. They are omnivorous, primarily feeding on plants, seeds, and insects. These birds are social creatures, often found in groups, and they play a significant role in their ecosystem by helping to disperse seeds.
