Commerson's dolphins
Commerson's dolphins are small marine mammals found primarily in the coastal waters of southern South America and around the Kerguelen Islands. They are easily recognizable due to their distinctive black and white coloration, resembling a miniature version of orca whales. These dolphins typically grow to about 1.5 to 2.2 meters in length.
These dolphins are social animals, often seen in small groups or pods. They primarily feed on fish and squid, using echolocation to locate their prey. Commerson's dolphins are known for their playful behavior, frequently leaping out of the water and riding the waves created by boats.
