Colorado State Legislature
The Colorado State Legislature is the legislative branch of the state government of Colorado. It is a bicameral body, consisting of two chambers: the Colorado House of Representatives and the Colorado Senate. The legislature is responsible for creating state laws, approving the state budget, and addressing various issues affecting Colorado residents.
Members of the legislature are elected by the public, with representatives serving two-year terms and senators serving four-year terms. The legislature meets annually at the Colorado State Capitol in Denver, typically from January to May. During this time, lawmakers propose, debate, and vote on a wide range of legislation.
