Colombian Government
The Colombian Government operates as a unitary presidential constitutional republic. It consists of three branches: the executive, led by the President, the legislative, which includes the Congress, and the judicial branch. The President is elected for a four-year term and can serve one consecutive term.
The Congress is bicameral, comprising the Senate and the House of Representatives. Members of both chambers are elected by the public. The government is responsible for creating laws, implementing policies, and ensuring the welfare of its citizens while maintaining order and security throughout the country.
