Colobus guereza
The Colobus guereza, commonly known as the black-and-white colobus monkey, is a species native to the forests of central and eastern Africa. It is characterized by its striking black fur and long, white facial whiskers, as well as a long, non-prehensile tail. These monkeys are primarily arboreal, spending most of their time in trees, where they feed on leaves, fruits, and flowers.
Colobus guereza lives in social groups, typically consisting of several females and one or more males. They communicate through a variety of vocalizations and are known for their acrobatic movements, which help them navigate their forest habitat. This species plays a vital role in its ecosystem by aiding in seed dispersal.
