Collaborationist
A "collaborationist" refers to an individual or group that cooperates with an occupying force or authority, often during times of conflict or war. This cooperation can involve sharing information, providing resources, or supporting the occupiers' policies. Collaborationists may be seen as traitors by their own community, especially if the occupying force is viewed as oppressive.
Historically, collaborationists have emerged in various contexts, such as during the Nazi occupation of France in World War II. Some individuals collaborated with the Vichy government or the Nazis for personal gain, safety, or ideological reasons, leading to complex moral and ethical debates about loyalty and survival.
