Colindat
Colindat is a traditional Romanian custom celebrated during the winter holidays, particularly around Christmas and New Year's. It involves groups of carolers, often children or young adults, who visit homes in their community to sing festive songs. The carolers are usually rewarded with treats, money, or other gifts for their performances.
The songs sung during Colindat often tell stories of the birth of Jesus Christ and the spirit of the season. This practice not only spreads joy and cheer but also strengthens community bonds and preserves cultural heritage through music and storytelling.
