Code of Canon Law
The Code of Canon Law is a comprehensive set of regulations governing the organization and operation of the Roman Catholic Church. It provides guidelines for the administration of sacraments, the conduct of clergy, and the rights and responsibilities of the faithful. The current version, promulgated in 1983, is known as the 1983 Code and replaced the earlier code established in 1917.
The Code is divided into seven books, each addressing different aspects of church life, such as the sacraments, ecclesiastical offices, and penal law. It serves as a legal framework to ensure order and unity within the Church, guiding its members in their spiritual and communal lives.
