Cobwebs
Cobwebs are the tangled, thread-like structures created by spiders, primarily made of silk. These silk threads are produced from specialized glands in a spider's abdomen and are used for various purposes, including building webs for trapping prey, creating egg sacs, and providing shelter. Cobwebs can often be found in corners of rooms, attics, and other undisturbed areas.
While commonly associated with dust and neglect, cobwebs serve an ecological purpose. They help control insect populations by trapping and immobilizing them. Different types of spiders, such as house spiders and orb-weavers, create distinct types of cobwebs, each adapted to their hunting strategies.
