Clothes Moth
The clothes moth is a small insect known for damaging fabrics, particularly those made from natural fibers like wool, silk, and cotton. Adult moths are about 1/2 inch long and have a wingspan of approximately 1 inch. They are typically light brown or gray, making them difficult to spot in clothing or storage areas.
The larvae of the clothes moth are the primary culprits behind fabric damage, as they feed on fibers while developing. To prevent infestations, it's essential to keep clothing clean, store items in airtight containers, and regularly check for signs of moth activity, such as webbing or holes in fabrics.
