Climbing Perch
The Climbing Perch is a unique freshwater fish known for its ability to move on land. It can breathe air through a specialized structure called a labyrinth organ, allowing it to survive in low-oxygen environments. This fish is native to parts of Southeast Asia and Africa and is often found in shallow waters like swamps and rice paddies.
Climbing Perch can travel short distances on land by using their pectoral fins to push themselves along. They are typically greenish-brown with a distinctive pattern of dark spots. This adaptability makes them resilient, but it also poses a risk as they can invade new ecosystems.
