Climate of Japan
The climate of Japan varies significantly across its regions due to its geographical features. The northern part, including Hokkaido, experiences a humid continental climate with cold winters and mild summers. In contrast, the southern regions, such as Okinawa, have a subtropical climate, characterized by warm temperatures year-round and a distinct rainy season.
Most of Japan receives ample rainfall, particularly during the summer months when the East Asian monsoon brings moisture. The country also faces natural phenomena like typhoons, especially from late summer to autumn, which can lead to heavy rainfall and strong winds.
