Climate of Australia
Australia has a diverse climate that varies significantly across its vast landscape. The northern regions experience a tropical climate with wet and dry seasons, while the southern areas have a temperate climate with four distinct seasons. The interior, known as the Outback, is characterized by arid and semi-arid conditions, leading to high temperatures and low rainfall.
Rainfall patterns also differ, with the eastern coast receiving more precipitation due to the Great Dividing Range. In contrast, the western and central parts of Australia are generally drier. Overall, Australia's climate influences its unique ecosystems and biodiversity, including the famous Great Barrier Reef.
