Clement of Ohrid
Clement of Ohrid was a 9th-century scholar and one of the most prominent disciples of Saints Cyril and Methodius. He played a crucial role in the development of the Old Church Slavonic language and the spread of Christianity in the Slavic regions. Clement is best known for founding the first Slavic university in Ohrid, which became a center for education and culture.
He is also credited with creating the first Slavic alphabet, known as the Glagolitic script, which laid the foundation for later scripts like Cyrillic. Clement's work significantly contributed to the preservation of Slavic heritage and the promotion of literacy among the Slavic peoples.
