Clement Clarke Moore
Clement Clarke Moore was an American writer and professor, best known for his poem "A Visit from St. Nicholas," which is often referred to as "The Night Before Christmas." Born on July 15, 1779, in New York City, he was educated at the Columbia College and later became a prominent figure in the field of education, teaching at various institutions.
Moore's poem, published anonymously in 1823, introduced many popular Christmas traditions, including the modern image of Santa Claus and the concept of flying reindeer. He passed away on July 10, 1863, leaving a lasting legacy in American literature and holiday culture.
