Clemens von Galen
Clemens von Galen was a German bishop born on March 16, 1878, in Dülmen. He became the Bishop of Münster in 1933 and was known for his strong opposition to the Nazi regime. His sermons criticized the government's policies, particularly the euthanasia program targeting the disabled and mentally ill.
During World War II, von Galen's outspoken stance made him a prominent figure in the Catholic Church. He used his position to advocate for human rights and dignity, earning respect both nationally and internationally. He passed away on March 22, 1946, and was later beatified by the Catholic Church in 2005.
