Clemens August von Galen
Clemens August von Galen was a German bishop born on March 16, 1878, in Dülmen, Germany. He became the Bishop of Münster in 1933 and was known for his strong opposition to the Nazi regime. His sermons and public statements criticized the government's policies, particularly those targeting the disabled and the Catholic Church.
Von Galen's resistance to the Nazis earned him the nickname "the Lion of Münster." He is remembered for his courageous stance against the Euthanasia Program and other oppressive measures. He passed away on March 22, 1946, and was later beatified by the Catholic Church in 2005.
