Cleanroom
A cleanroom is a controlled environment designed to minimize contamination from airborne particles, dust, and other pollutants. These specialized spaces are commonly used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, electronics, and biotechnology, where even tiny particles can affect product quality and safety. Cleanrooms are equipped with advanced filtration systems and strict protocols to maintain cleanliness.
To achieve the desired cleanliness levels, cleanrooms are classified based on the number and size of particles allowed per volume of air. For example, a Class 100 cleanroom permits no more than 100 particles of 0.5 micrometers or larger per cubic foot of air. Personnel working in cleanrooms often wear protective clothing, such as gowns and masks, to further reduce contamination risks.
