Clare Boothe Luce
Clare Boothe Luce was an American author, politician, and diplomat, born on March 10, 1903. She is best known for her play, The Women, which premiered in 1936 and became a significant work in American theater. Luce was also a prominent figure in the Republican Party and served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1943 to 1947.
In addition to her political career, Luce was appointed as the U.S. Ambassador to Italy from 1953 to 1956. Throughout her life, she was an advocate for women's rights and played a crucial role in promoting women's participation in politics and public life. Luce passed away on October 9, 1987.
