Chugoku region
The Chugoku region is located in the western part of Japan, bordered by the Sea of Japan to the north and the Seto Inland Sea to the south. It consists of five prefectures: Okayama, Hiroshima, Shimane, Tottori, and Yamaguchi. The region is known for its diverse landscapes, including mountains, rivers, and coastal areas, as well as its rich cultural heritage.
Chugoku is home to several historical sites, such as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, which commemorates the victims of the atomic bombing in 1945. The region also features beautiful natural attractions, including Misen Mountain and the Shimanami Kaido cycling route, which connects several islands in the Seto Inland Sea.
