Christian Initiation
Christian Initiation refers to the process by which individuals become members of the Christian faith. This typically involves three sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. Each sacrament represents a step in the journey of faith, beginning with the cleansing of sin through baptism, followed by the strengthening of faith in confirmation, and culminating in the reception of the body and blood of Christ in the Eucharist.
The initiation process varies among different Christian denominations. For example, in the Roman Catholic Church, these sacraments are usually received in a specific order, often during childhood. In contrast, some Protestant communities may emphasize a personal decision to follow Christ, leading to baptism as a public declaration of faith.
