Chinook Language
The Chinook language is a Native American language originally spoken by the Chinook people in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It belongs to the Penutian language family and has several dialects, including Chinook Jargon, which served as a trade language among various tribes and European settlers.
Although the number of fluent speakers has declined significantly, efforts are being made to revitalize the language through educational programs and community initiatives. The Chinook language is an important part of the cultural heritage of the Chinook people and reflects their history and traditions.
