Chilean National Police
The Chilean National Police, known as Carabineros de Chile, is the national law enforcement agency of Chile. Established in 1927, it operates under the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security. The police force is responsible for maintaining public order, preventing crime, and enforcing laws throughout the country.
The Carabineros are organized into various units, including traffic, special operations, and community policing. They play a crucial role in ensuring safety during public events and emergencies. The police force is recognized for its military-style structure and is distinct from the civilian police, which is known as Policía de Investigaciones de Chile.
